The Mercedes Benz SL, Sport Light, was first launched in 1954 and caused a sensation with its Gullwing doors and motorsport derived technology. The Mercedes Benz R129 is the fourth generation of the SL and is one of the most high-quality models produced.

Built between 1993 and 2001, the SL320 is often considered the "sweet spot" of the R129 lineup, offering a perfect balance of reliability, fuel efficiency, and the classic "over-engineered" build quality Mercedes was famous for. The M104 3.2L 228 HP straight-six engine was used between 1993–1998 and is highly regarded for its smoothness and longevity.

The Mercedes Benz SL320 is also sought after for its superior handling. Due to the 6-cylinder engine being much lighter than the heavy V8 or V12, the SL320 feels more "nimble" and has better turn-in response on twisty roads.

This Mercedes Benz is an R129 series SL320 was first delivered on the 6th of July 1995 by Sandown Motors Village close in Johannesburg. Its original service booklets are present which summarizes a good maintenance history.
