The Ferrari 328 GTS is one of Ferrari’s mid-engine 80’s icons. The Ferrari 328 evolved from the 308 while retaining the recognizable wedge shape Pinninfarina style.
Improvements included better aerodynamic efficiency, improved ergonomics, more comfortable seats, improved legroom and an increase in power. The increase in power was due to an increase in capacity from 3.0l to 3.2l, new pistons and an electronic Magnetti Marelli ignition system.
The 328 was one of Ferrari’s commercial successes, producing over 6000 units in the GTS variant from 1985 to 1989.
The 3.2 liter naturally aspirated, 90-degree V8 engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox with iconic open gate. It produces 270 BHP and can achieve a 0-100km/h time of 5.9 seconds. It will also reach a top speed of 262 km/h, a truly capable speed for a car of that era.
With a curb weight figure of just 1.263 kg, it is a light and agile performance car delivering an exhilarating analogue driving experience at higher RPM unique to 90-degree Ferrari V8 engines.
This example was manufactured in July 1988 and is a pre ABS model with the more attractive Convex 16 inch rims
It is well presented in probably the best colour combination of Rosso Corsa with beige leather and has only covered 47980 km since new. It has seen little use since the last service at 47 188km but due to this being almost 5 years ago another cambelt service (approximately R 35 000) is recommended. The tyres have also not been replaced since then and we have sourced estimates for a replacement set at R 7200 incl VAT.
