The Porsche 928 dared to proclaim itself the successor to the revered 911 and was in production from 1978 to 1995. It was developed as the replacement for the Porsche 911 as Porsche thought the 911 had reached the end of its development potential. The Porsche 928 is a front engine rear wheel drive Grand Tourer powered by a water cooled V8 engine initially of 4.5 litres and later 5.4 litres.
It has excellent handling and 50/50 weight distribution due to the transaxle gearbox and its doors front wings and bonnet are all made of aluminium in order to save weight
