The Porsche Outlaw: is a vintage Porsche, traditionally a 356 that has been modified and customized to improve performance, rather than being restored to its original factory specifications. Common features include engine swaps, bumper deletes, interior stripping, custom bodywork and lowered suspension. Today what was once seen as "sacrilege" is now highly prestigious. Authentic high quality Outlaw builds by companies such as Emory Outlaws or Singer 911s often sell for far more than their perfectly preserved stock counterparts.
One of the highlights of this example is the 2.1l Willhoit spec engine with custom internals which significantly increases the performance of the standard Porsche 356. Developed by John Willhoit of Willhoit Auto Restoration in Long Beach California, this is considered to be the ultimate performance upgrade for the Porsche 356 for road use.
