The R107 series Mercedes Benz SL was an instant success with an elegant design, advanced driving dynamics and solid build quality. Ease of use was on a superior level compared to its predecessor, the W113 Pagoda, which meant that the R107 series SL’s were truly daily use sportscars. The 500sl was manufactured between 1980 and 1989 and was powered by an all aluminium 5.0 V8 which produced 237 BHP.
