LT or “Long Tail” is the designation for Mclaren’s most extreme track-focused road cars. The term “Long Tail” was first used when South African born F1 designer Gordon Murray optimized the aerodynamics on the Le Mans winning Mclaren F1 GTR by stretching its bodywork for the 1997 GT season.
Hallmarks of a McLaren LT:
Mclaren were the first to race a Formula 1 car with a carbon fibre monocoque (John Barnard’s Mclaren MP4/1) and every Mclaren is built around a lightweight carbon fibre monocoque chassis.
The Mclaren 600 LT is a fast, light, raw and uncompromised track focused supercar with a pair of top exiting exhausts that shoot flames visible at night. The Long tail treatment has included:
Highly regarded by the international motoring press. The Mclaren 600 LT won both the EVO Car of the Year and Autocar’s Best Driver’s Car awards in 2018 over competition such as the Ferrari 488 Pista and Porsche GT3 RS. Mclaren’s masterstroke was to give the LT treatment to the 570s Sports series model with the effect of bringing advanced driving dynamics and lightning performance to a more affordable level versus the rarified prices of the Ferrari 488 Pista and Lamborghini Hurucan STO.
This Mclaren 600 LT was ordered in the iconic Mclaren Orange with Carbon Black Alcantara racing seats with contrasting orange stitching plus the following optional extras:
The pre delivery inspection of this 600LT was on the 26th of August 2019 and first registration on the 28th of January 2020. It has a full franchise service history plus an annual service and new set of tyres are included in the asking price.
The connection to Mclaren’s heritage is strong with this Mclaren 600 LT example with its Mclaren Orange colour linking it to Mclaren's 1960's era of Bruce Mclaren, its Carbon fibre monocoque chassis with the 1980's of John Barnard’s Mclaren MP4/1 Formula One car and the Longtail treatment to the 1990's and Gordon Murray's Mclaren F1 GTR
This is an opportunity to secure a low mileage example of the award winning Mclaren 600LT in the perfect colour and specification that pays tribute to Mclaren’s rich motor racing heritage.
