The Jaguar E type is widely regarded as a motoring icon. Its success lay in the combination high performance, beauty and competitive pricing. Enzo Ferrari was known to have commented that the E type was the most beautiful car ever made. Success at Lemans was largely responsible for the strong performance of the XK straight six engines as well as the aerodynamic design.
According to the original Manufacturers warranty on file, this Jaguar E type is a Series 2 Fixed Head Coupe which was first delivered on the 30th of January 1971 via Henly's Limited of London to a doctor residing in Rondebosch Cape Town. It was finished in the desirable colour combination of Regency Red with Beige interior which this example still retains as well as its original engine.
It is believed that the family of the current owner purchased this E type in the mid 1970's and parked it with no further use in 1985. In 2019, the owner commissioned a respected Jaguar E type specialist to do a full mechanical overhaul. The result is that this Jaguar E type is one of the very best examples we have driven. This is an opportunity to secure a highly original Jaguar E type in peak mechanical condition.
