The Ferrari 360 was named the "Modena" in tribute to Modena, Italy, the city of Enzo Ferrari’s birth. It was a “clean sheet” design notable for being the first Ferrari to be made entirely from aluminium. The main advantages of this technology were increased rigidity (40% stiffer) and lower weight (60kg) which lead to improved performance, handling, safety, and overall driving experience.
The Ferrari 360 Modena was a significant leap forward aerodynamically benefiting greatly from extensive wind tunnel testing. The key aerodynamic innovations were a flat underbody, twin rear diffusers, front air intakes, integrated design, absence of wings and shoulder mounted cooling scoops.
The Ferrari 360 Modena was powered by a 3.6l longitudinally mounted 3.6l V8 with 5 valves per cylinder, dry sump lubrication, a flat-plane crankshaft, titanium connecting rods with a power output of 395 BHP. Today the Ferrari 360 Modena is a great Ferrari for a first-time buyer, has a fun visceral drive ,presents good value for money and represents an important time in Ferrari’s history
