Snapshots of the recent Kalk Bay Veteran Run 2022
This event is for cars and motorcycles manufactured prior to the 1st of January 1919 and usually takes place on the first Sunday in February every year. Notable entrants included the 1901 Benz, a 1902 Wolseley, a 1907 Nordenfelt (the only example known to still exist), the Ford Model S (predecessor to the Model T) and the well represented Ford Model T's.
This event commemorates the first ever "Breakfast Run" in South Africa which in December 1901 celebrated the formation of the Automobile Club of South Africa with a run from Greenmarket Square to Kalk Bay and back.
