It is powered by the 4-cylinder, 1.8 liter 2ZZ-GE VVTL-i engine built by Toyota (designed by Yamaha) with a Lotus Supercharger boosting power over the preceding naturally aspirated Exige. This engine produces 220 BHP resulting in an impressive power to weight ratio of 233 BHP per ton as the total weight of the car is only 935kg
