The Jaguar E Type is regarded as a motoring icon and its success lay in the combination high performance, beauty and competitive pricing. Enzo Ferrari was known to have commented that the E Type was the most beautiful car ever made, and it is one of only six automobiles to reside in the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) due to its significance in the design world.

Introduced in 1971, the series 3 Jaguar E Type was a very different car to its predecessors. The V12 engine, only 39 kg heavier than the 4.2l six cylinder, was initially designed for the Lemans 24-hour race but was well suited to the American market (Jaguar’s largest client base) who loved their big engines. Wheelbase was stretched, wheel arches flared, plus power steering and bigger brakes were added The E type was now more luxury cruiser rather than road racer

According to the accompanying Jaguar Heritage Certificate, this example was manufactured on the 30th March 1973 and is a numbers matching example. It has been restored over the past 3 years and was repainted to the current metallic grey colour with a black interior. The current owner has spared no expense in bringing this example up to excellent condition and it is a pleasure to drive with the manual gearbox and glorious sound of the naturally aspirated 5.3l V12 engine.
